Tom Chaldecott is a machinery safety and marketplace legislation consultant dedicated to helping organisations ensure worker safety, and achieve compliance with relevant regulations, through pragmatic advice and sensible solutions.  

With extensive experience in manufacturing, production and product development, Tom provides expert guidance to businesses who need to effectively navigate complex regulatory compliance requirements, which threaten to trip up even the most fastidious product designer or site manager.

His deep knowledge of machinery safety standards, CE/UKCA marking, PUWER and product legislation, coupled with in-house occupational health and safety expertise on hand, enables him to offer tailored solutions that help companies mitigate risks, meet regulatory demands, and improve operational safety.

Tom is passionate about ensuring machinery and equipment is safe by design, responsible practices are implemented, and empowering businesses with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to comply with evolving legislation.

Before becoming a consultant, Tom managed an engineering team and health & safety systems in a scale-up technology company, where he played a key role in senior leadership. His contributions to industry innovation earned him recognition by Business Insider’s “100 People Transforming Business”.
