Neil Hutton
Originally trained as a Mechanical Engineer whilst an apprentice in the 1980s later graduating with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering & Operations Management from the University of Nottingham.
Between 2002 and 2012 four Lean Six Sigma Black Belts were attained: 2 through Caterpillar, 1 though Universal Management Systems in Frankfurt and a certified Six Sigma Black Belt through the American Society for Quality.
Current and previous work experience has been gained in varying industries, some heavily regulated. Current and past roles have been in the pneumatics, medical device, FMCG, pharmaceutical, instrumentation & control, automotive, consumer health and retail banking fields – all with market leading global corporations like SMC, GSK, Caterpillar, Sanofi, P&G and Endress+Hauser.
My current role is aligned to SMC’s external sales team. I visit SMC customers on a consultancy type basis, review their processes and procedures and offer advice, training and/or facilitation services to identify and rectify outages experienced in any of their key People, Quality, Velocity or Cost metrics.
